Change Your Mindset to Create Positivity

Our mindset is a puzzle of thoughts and beliefs through experiences and hold the secret to our own transformation.

Thoughts dictate our behavior and to create a life we love and feel exciting about, we need to not only investigate our beliefs but connect them to our thoughts and evaluate how they impact our thoughts.

Easier said then done because we continue to allow others -- the naysayers -- drag us down because they are not able to see the possibilities of dreams. For them it's safer to hang on to the job and working for someone else because it provides security, but it also tends to leave them miserable.

Have courage to break the mold and step into your own personal power.

Here is what you need to know:

You don't have to live your life like everyone else!

Change your mindset through these nine actions and watch your life transform.

1. Start seeing the positive

I am not saying to discount the negative because that helps us grow. You can embrace the negative and ask yourself what you can learn from it. Then turn around and acknowledge the positive things in your life. Take a note of all the good things you are currently experiencing and all the great things you are doing.

2. Embrace the truth

Yes, things in life happen al the time. Some by choice -- some not. Acknowledge each experience for what it is and don't allow yourself to be the victim. Sometimes we can't explain why things happen, but we can do something to improve or change the situation.

3. Don't blame others

Emotional freedom comes from letting go and is the path to happiness. Hanging on to anger, jealousy and resentment will only leave you caged in the victim role. When we are able to let go of the blame and take responsibility we become powerful.

4. Stop worrying so much

Worry deprives us of seeing the possibilities and the joy because we are focused on what we are lacking in our lives. Use your frustration and sit down and brainstorm all the possible ways you can remove the worry, and before you know it you have a plan of action.

5. Stop expecting

Being appreciative and having gratitude of all what you have is much more joyful than getting disappointed by needless expectations. Choosing a positive attitude opens the door for opportunities.

6. Get out of your comfort zone

Be open to trusting yourself and others. There will always be a time of pain and sorrow but don't allow this to stop you from moving towards your dreams. Dreams are earned and you ned to take action and this happens by getting out of your own head.

7. Be Satisfied

Look around and acknowledge all you have. When we are increasingly dissatisfied we create more frustration in our lives and feel overwhelmed. Gratitude will bring us to a level of having and being enough.

8. Be open

When we close ourselves off from learning, we remain stuck. By being open to hearing other perspectives and willingness to create change, we are able to heal ourselves and are ready to embrace life with excitement.

9. Don't live in the past

The past is just that -- the past. You can't change it. Remembering your experiences is not a bad thing because it gives you the opportunity to acknowledge your resilience and strength. You can reflect on what it has taught you and define for yourself what you want in life.

Allow your mindset to see the possibilities become reality, so you can create the positive life you envision.

HuffPost's GPS for the Soul app is based on two truths about human beings. First: We all have a centered place of wisdom, harmony and balance within us. Second: We're all going to veer away from that place, again and again and again. What we need is a great course-correcting mechanism -- a GPS for the Soul -- to help us find our way back to that centered place, from which everything is possible.

Because no one knows better than you what helps you de-stress and tap into that place of peace inside yourself, it's important for you to create your very own GPS guide -- a personalized collection of whatever helps you course-correct. Email us at GPS@huffingtonpost.com and we'll set you up with your very own HuffPost blogger account to share your guide on the site. If you're already a blogger, we encourage you to upload your personal guide today. We can't wait to see what you have to share.
