PrEP Effective For Transgender Women


PrEP is effective at preventing HIV in transgender women, a groundbreaking new study found. Researchers also found that barriers prevented trans women from getting PrEP consistently. More research needs to be done but these results look very good for the future.


Gay Acres: How Rural Living Affects Our Health


Where you live impacts your health, a new study found. Researchers learned that rural LGBT people had worse health than urban LGBT people on everything from smoking and obesity to mental health and HIV. Just as one example, a whopping 49% of rural bisexual men smoke.


Homeless LGBT Teens Get Housing in Baton Rouge


Homeless LGBT teens in Baton Rouge will be getting LGBT-friendly housing thanks to Youth Oasis, an emergency shelter. Twenty to 40 percent of homeless teens are LGBT so this will fill a big gap for Baton Rouge. Youth Oasis: keep up the good work. 


Bisexuals Overrepresented Among Drug Users


Bisexuals may be overrepresented among injection drug users, a new study found. Less than 10 percent of the US is bisexual but 14 percent of drug users reported bisexual behavior in the study. Considering the discrimination bisexuals face, this is not wholly surprising.  


Condoms are A-Okay


Guys are okay with condoms in porn films, a new study found. When asked about seeing condoms in porn most men said they were supportive. Gay men were more supportive of condoms than straight men. As they say in showbiz, that’s a wrap!
